Over 15 years ago, Mari launched a food magazine from her home kitchen, named after her mom ANNA. A homemaker’s perspective to food and entertaining with delicious recipes, inspiring quotes and stories, beautiful food styling and design. Mari’s writing, food styling and cooking style captivated a global audience, and grew from magazine to newsletter and membership site, cooking classes to corporate food experiences.

Mari's cooking events have attracted food lovers, corporate A-listers and New York City bankers. Each experience delivered in the same personal manner, with students gathered around her kitchen island, experiencing the sheer delight of connecting over simple, delicious and beautiful food.

Mari has travelled to Italy to taste Prosecco in Venice, danced in the wine fields of Puglia, explored the world famous fish market in Sicily and honed her skills at the finest cooking school in Italy. Last summer Mari drove 6000 miles to California just to taste Nancy Silverton's pizza crust, street tacos from authentic Mexican taco trucks, and Alice Water's poached eggs with crispy sweet corn polenta at Chez Panisse.

Mari's philosophy is Making Everyday Special and believes that cooking is the highest form of self love and love for others. Mari lives in Toronto, Canada with her daughter Isabella.

  • Story time Mari shares her story of growing up in Reinfeld, Manitoba, to a career in the corporate world to finally finding her passion launching an international food magazine from her home kitchen, named after her mom ANNA. Mari also shares the successes and challenges of navigating a print magazine to a digital platform through a newsletter called Monday Morning Inspiration and eventually coming full circle and embracing a more eco-friendly ANNA lifestyle with her latest offspring called DinnerPlan.

  • Talking Shop on the marketing side of ANNA, Mari talks about email marketing and why Kitchen Tips From My Italian Ex-Boyfriend was the most successful email list building campaign, that dramatically changed their business. And how these ideas can change yours too.

  • 12 Italian Pantry Essentials, Cooking Demo and Sit Down Dinner Mari will demo how these special products will take your cooking to another level. How to keep them stocked at all times, and how to use them to create the perfect cheeseboard, and delicious Italian Dinner. Demo includes homemade pasta making, the perfect tomato sauce and how to sear romaine to make the best Caesar salad.

  • What will you eat Mari serves dinner family style, and it will include Cheeseboard starter using the Italian Pantry Essentials, Pasta Pomodoro with basil and Parmesan, Seared Caesar Salad with Pancetta and Homemade Croutons, Watermelon Feta Salad with Mint, and her famous Salted Chocolate Isabella Torte.
